Stephen ministry became active at Peace Lutheran Church of New Braunfels when eight members completed the first training in 2008.  Additional Stephen Ministers are trained each year to meet increasing requests for caring, and to replace those who have completed formal caring service.  Eleven Stephen Ministers are currently active at Peace.

Twice each month our Stephen Ministers find support and growth through peer supervision and continuing education.  They  meet for a one-hour mini-seminar then, as a peer group, evaluate and help each other become more effective as caregivers …  all while maintaining strict anonymity of specific care receiver situations.                             
 

Planning and management of Stephen Ministry operations at Peace Lutheran Church is under the charge of Stephen Leaders who have received advanced training provided by Stephen Ministry Headquarters.
