Communion window located in the front center of the Sanctuary

| This window illustrates the Sacrament of Communion or the Last Supper. The Biblical accounts of this event have Jesus celebrating the Passover meal with his disciples in an upper room. Jesus knowing full well the events that are coming to pass uses the Passover meal as an object lesson to illustrate his upcoming Crucifixion and its meaning. This window contains the elements of the Communion both in their natural forms, (grapes and wheat) and refined forms, (wine and bread.) Just as it takes intervention to transform wheat into bread and grapes into wine it takes Jesus to transform humankind from its natural sinful state into an elevated spiritual state. the act of Communion is to not only remind us of the ongoing transforming power of God but also to remind us where his power originates. For after passing out the broken bread and the spilt wine Jesus said, "Do this in remembrance of me." Communion; a sacrament of forgiveness, is also to remind us that anything of eternal worth in our lives comes not from us but from Jesus Christ; we are to remain humble in knowing that we can do nothing apart from the awesome love and power of Jesus. Behind the chalice in this window is a Cross with the form of Jesus on it to remind the viewers that in Communion and all things we are to do them in remembrance of Jesus Christ.
