Meals on Wheels

Peace now has an active team of Meals-On-Wheels volunteers delivering meals from the Comal County Senior Center to elderly shut-ins on the first, third and fifth Tuesdays and every Wednesday. Volunteers are always needed.  Interested persons having time to give to this program can call Deanie Chollett at 830-625-6459.

Mission Trips

Members of Peace spread God’s work through mission trips to needy people beyond our borders.  In recent years adult teams have helped LAMP (Lutheran Association of Missionaries & Pilots,www.lampministry.org) teach vacation bible school in remote areas of northern Canada.   And teams of adults and youth travel to Juarez, Mexico, each summer to assist with vacation bible school, women’s ministry, food distribution and construction; this past summer they built new dormitories for orphans.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry provides one-to-one care through trained lay persons to individuals struggling with major and minor life crises.  Since it began in 1975, some 10,000 congregations of over 150 Christian denominations have had Stephen Ministries.  New Braunfels was without this caring resource when Peace Lutheran Church commissioned its first Stephen Ministers in 2008.

  PYG — Peace Youth Group

The mission of the youth groups of Peace Lutheran Church is for all youth to feel welcome, appreciated, and accepted as members of the congregation through involvement in their own age-specific groups, as well as intergenerational activities. The youth will be spiritually fed and strengthened in their relationship with Christ through fellowship, worship, education, and outreach, with the goal of witness and service to the community and world.
